Summary: The Legend of the Ampalaya (Alamat ng Ampalaya) is a Filipino children's story about a bland and pale vegetable named Ampalaya. Ampalaya stole the beauty, color and taste of vegetables in the town of Sariwa. Because of greediness, he was punished in the Court of Vegetables.

Classroom Uses: Storytelling, Read Alouds

This story is wonderfully told and well illustrated. Good for students in kindergarten and elementary.
